Some may hesitate to buy from us due to the use of animal-derived products. This is an issue we have deeply discussed. We understand this may raise concerns, but after careful reflection, we have concluded that this is the most responsible option to create products that not only last but are also a more conscious alternative to fast fashion.

For us, being sustainable isn’t about selling you the idea that a bag can save the world, but about making responsible and conscious decisions regarding the impact of our actions. That’s why we take every step seriously, embracing a realistic and transparent approach.

At Dueñas, we don’t shy away from tough conversations. Our name reflects our commitment to owning our actions. We’re not here just to follow trends; we’re here to rethink how we create fashion with authenticity and responsibility. It won’t always be easy, but it will always be honest.

We come from an industry marked by rampant consumerism, where “more” always seems to be better. We prefer to follow the advice of our grandparents: “buy less, but buy better.” That’s how we decided to create something that is not only beautiful but also durable.

We considered alternatives such as vegan leather, but after thorough research, none met the quality and durability standards we demand. That’s why we chose cowhide from the meat industry, fully aware that sustainability is not a label, but a process of well-founded decisions.

We redesigned every piece of our bag to maximize every centimeter of material, minimizing waste and creating products that require the fewest possible cuts. Less waste. More design. More impact. Because we believe good design is not only aesthetic but also functional and durable.

This project is not just a brand for us. It’s our way of rekindling the excitement of creating meaningful fashion, of reconnecting with the little girl who once dreamed of fashion. We saw the industry becoming unsustainable and decided to be part of the solution instead of following the relentless pace of unconscious consumption.
