MADRID BEATS WITH STRENGTH
When a city becomes a stage, fashion becomes identity
There are cities that vibrate even if you don’t walk their streets. Cities that make you feel part of their energy even when you are far away. That’s what happened to us with Madrid these days: we followed it from a distance, but with our hearts beating in sync with every show, every image, every word that turned the capital into the epicenter of international fashion.

The beginning was a direct hit to our emotions: Carolina Herrera in Plaza Mayor. Seeing that place transformed into a runway was like opening a window to a dream. The images reached us and we could almost hear the murmur of the square, feel the crunch of history beneath the heels. Red and black dominated the pieces, sensuality intertwined with Herrera’s classic elegance, and that unexpected collaboration with Sybilla that made us sigh. Wes Gordon summed it up better than anyone: “There’s something in the rhythm of this city, in its appetite for life, that inspires me and fills me with energy.” And yes, we felt it too, even from afar.

Then came Palomo, always so true to himself, so free. This time with a collection inspired by Sofia Coppola’s cinema that opened the door to an intimate and delicate universe. It felt like witnessing a silent transition: from youth to maturity, from fantasy to desire. It moved us deeply. We loved seeing him take the leap into the feminine, as if daring to put into words (and into fabrics) what so often remains invisible.

And then, Adolfo Domínguez. Fourteen years later, back in Madrid. Just the name of his collection, Zenit, already generated expectation. And it delivered. Serenity, calm, a language whose silence speaks volumes. The images from the Crystal Gallery at the Palacio de Cibeles conveyed that timeless elegance, that unmistakable signature.

As we watched it all from afar, we returned to our own memories in Madrid. Studying there, learning up close, internships in fashion that taught us the value of listening to the consumer, walking its streets and soaking up its essence. Perhaps that’s why these shows moved us so much: because we felt that Madrid was not only a stage, but also root, memory, and now the future of fashion.

Today we shout it out without fear: Madrid has it all. Craftsmanship, creativity, courage, and a heartbeat that crosses borders and screens. And even if we weren’t physically there, we lived it as if we had walked it ourselves. Because fashion, when it’s authentic, feels like this: intense, inspiring, shared.

Because what we are witnessing is not just another season: it’s the beginning of a new chapter in which Madrid steps firmly forward and leaves its mark.

The question is… are we ready to see how far it can go?

AND NOW, WHO DOES IT?
Fashion is beginning to value local production just as skilled labor becomes scarce. Trades like garment making and pattern cutting have been made invisible, leading to a lack of generational renewal. Ubrique, a benchmark in quality, is facing high demand but limited capacity due to a shortage of trained professionals. Now is the time to train, dignify, and invest in the craft so that the industry can sustain itself.
